Theft: On Aug. 18, a Noble Road, Carlton, man reported that someone stole his pickup. The man said he is the only one with a key to the truck.
Assault: On Aug. 18, deputy Chris Guest was dispatched to Georgia Highway 106 in Hull, where he saw a woman loading items into her vehicle while arguing with a man. The woman said she was tired of arguing with him, so she was taking her property and moving out. She also said he hit her in the head with his fist. The man said they argued over the housework not being done and he was ready for her to leave. He said he pushed her slightly, but did not hit her. While the deputy was there, the woman loaded her belongings and said she was leaving and not coming back.
Dispute: On Aug. 18, deputy David Kidd was dispatched to a Hull home where a woman said her daughter-in-law had her cell phones and had refused to return them. The daughter-in-law, who has had problems with the woman, said she would take the phones to the sheriff's office so they could be returned. The woman wanted her daughter-in-law arrested.
Theft: On Aug. 18, deputy Shawn Rhoades was dispatched to Bulloch Mill Road for the theft of an air conditioner at a house under foreclosure. Prospective homebuyers realized the unit was missing.
Fraud: On Aug. 19, an employee at the 4-H office on Sunset Drive, Danielsville, reported a debit card stolen from her purse. The woman said she found several transactions made the day of the theft. She thinks the card was stolen while she was at work.
Arrest: On Aug. 19, deputy Brandon Hanley saw a truck on General Daniels Avenue in Danielsville pass with a taillight out. He stopped the truck and noticed the truck had no license plate. Charles T. Best, 19, of Hull was charged with driving while his license was suspended, no tag and the taillight infraction.
Molestation: On Aug. 19, a deputy was dispatched to a home near Hull, where a woman said her 12-year-old nephew had committed a sex act on her 4-year-old daughter. The child told her mother, who took the girl to a hospital where law enforcement authorities were contacted.
Complaint: On Aug. 19, Sgt. David Kidd was dispatched to a Blacks Creek Church Road home where a man said a dog killed eight of his rabbits and damaged their pens. The man saw two white German shepherds in his yard, one of them standing among the dead rabbits. The man said the dog growled at him, then ran off. The deputy drove through the neighborhood trying to find the dogs' owner, but was unsuccessful.
Damage: On Aug. 19, deputy Mark Jerome was summoned to Danielsville Elementary School, where damage was sustained to the breezeway that led from the Colt Academy to the elementary school. Several sections of metal roofing were dented by someone who climbed onto the roof.
Theft: On Aug. 19, a mobile home park resident on U.S. Highway 29 South reported that he heard someone under his home whispering. The man said he thinks someone was stealing some scrap copper wire he had underneath the trailer.
Burglary: On Aug. 19, a Fox Trail woman said someone broke into her home through a back door by striking the door with an object that knocked a hole near the deadbolt. The door frame also will have to be replaced. The kitchen cabinets and refrigerator were rummaged through. Investigator Doug Martin arrived to check for fingerprints.
Theft: On Aug. 19, a woman said she went to the Dollar General store to shop and noticed later in the evening that her wallet was missing. The store called later to let her know that her wallet had been turned in, but she realized when she picked it up that someone had removed $320 cash. Security video footage shows a middle-aged white man entering the store and giving the clerk the wallet.
Damage: On Aug. 19, deputy Jason Luke was dispatched to Holly Creek Church Road, where someone had pulled up two wooden posts and a cable that were used to block a driveway.
Theft: On Aug. 20, deputy Joshua Smith was dispatched to Allen Road to check on a woman after her mother called out of concern about her. When Smith arrived, he did not see a blue Volkswagen in the yard as the mother told him he should. He knocked on the door but got no response. Upon shining his flashlight into the living room, he could see some movement. Finally, the door was opened and he found two women, including the woman he was checking on. The woman could not find her cell phone, and when she looked outside for a male companion, she realized her car was gone. The woman called Jason A. Patton, 28, of Griffin, and asked where he was, but he refused to tell her. She advised him to come back because he didn't have permission to use her car. Smith and the woman went outside, and soon the car returned with Patton and another man. While Smith ran a background check on the pair, Patton walked inside the home. When Smith learned that Patton's license was suspended, he went inside the home, but Patton had fled through a back door and into the woods. A warrant was secured for obstruction.
Assault: On Aug. 20, deputy Mark Jerome met with a teacher at Madison County High School, where two girls were detained for fighting. Both girls were taken to the sheriff's office and later released to a parent.
Harassment: On Aug. 20, a Hull woman reported that her ex-boyfriend was calling and making threats toward her. The man is heard in the recorded messages as saying he planned to cut her throat. The 45-year-old man also used profanities in describing deputies and advised the woman that he was not afraid of them.
Arrest: On Aug. 20, deputy Josh Fowler stopped a vehicle near Veterans Drive in Danielsville and noticed the driver was slurring his speech. The woman admitted she had taken some Lortabs. Jody LeFevre, 23, of Dewy Rose was arrested for DUI, and a bag of suspected methamphetamine was found when she was searched.
Burglary: On Aug. 20, a Clarke Circle, Hull, resident reported returning home from lunch about 2 p.m. He heard a vehicle behind his home and noticed the door had been damaged. The vehicle left in a hurry, and the man was unable to get a description. Deputy Wesley Bryant found evidence the perpetrator may have been in a Saturn.
Burglary: On Aug. 21, a Jones Mathews Road resident reported that someone entered her home and stole some items.
Fraud: On Aug. 21, deputy Alan Stratton met with a Georgia Highway 72 resident who said her boyfriend removed her debit card from her purse without permission and made a $42 purchase. The woman said she will prosecute.
Arrests: On Aug. 21, deputy Joshua Smith stopped a red Dodge Neon with only one headlight working on U.S. Highway 29 about 12:45 a.m. near Glenn Carrie Road. The deputy asked for identification from the driver and his three passengers. Smith learned that Erik N. Lord, 22, of Piedmont Road, Hull, was wanted on felony probation violations from Madison and Oglethorpe counties. Deputies Chad Parr and Matthew Pilkington arrived to assist, and as Lord was being searched he was found in possession of a cigarette pack with three pills identified as clonazepam. Also, Alan C. Moon, 35, of College Avenue, Athens, was arrested for giving a false name and date of birth. William H. Tedrick, 27, of Fourth Street, Athens, was wanted on charges from Clarke County.
